Members of the Sarah Platt Decker Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) recently completed their annual First Responder Cookie Service Project on Oct. 29, delivering homemade cookies and heartfelt appreciation to agencies that serve and protect the Archuleta County community throughout the year.
This year, DAR volunteers delivered treats to the Pagosa Fire Protection District, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Archuleta County Sheriff’s Office, Emergency Operations Center, Colorado National Guard, Pagosa Springs Humane Society, Pagosa Springs Police Department and the San Juan National Forest Pagosa Ranger District.
The annual project is a simple but meaningful way for DAR members to thank local first responders and emergency service personnel for their dedication, sacrifice and commitment to keeping the community safe. Whether responding to emergencies, protecting public lands, caring for animals or providing critical support during times of need, these organizations play an essential role in the well-being of area residents.
The Pagosa DAR ladies expressed their gratitude to all first responders for their tireless service and for everything they do on behalf of the community throughout the year.
