Dear Editor:
A big thank you to the person or group responsible for putting the portable toilets at the Treasure Falls parking lot. Treasure Falls is a popular stop for locals and tourists all year long. The area had become littered with tissue and human waste ever since the vault toilet was removed a few years ago. It is incredibly frustrating when a popular, high-traffic spot loses basic amenities like that, especially when the resulting impact on nature and the trail experience becomes so clear. Failing to provide a proper alternative after removing a vault toilet was quickly turning a beautiful scenic stop into an environmental hazard.
