Joshua Trujillo, 42, of Greeley, formerly of Pagosa Springs, passed away on Sept. 29, 2024, in Greeley, Colo. He was born on March 29, 1982, in Durango, Colo., to Joel and Theresa (Cordova) Trujillo.

Joshua grew up and attended school in Pagosa Springs. He participated in football, wrestling and baseball for Pagosa Springs High School. After graduating high school, he attended and received his bachelor’s degree from Fort Lewis College in Durango. He then attended and received his master’s degree from Colorado State University in chemistry. Due to his commitment and achievements, he was honored with a doctorate certificate.

Joshua loved the outdoors and spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and cooking. Joshua especially had a passion for hunting, where he was able to spend quality time with not only his dad, mom, brother and his nephew Joe, but many other friends and members of the community as well. Cooking, along with entertaining family and friends, made his heart happy and life full. He had a heart of gold and a soft spot for those in need, especially when it came to children. Joshua’s generosity was never-ending and unmatched. He was a member and financial advisor for LULAC (the League of United Latin American Citizens).

Joshua is survived by his parents, Joel and Theresa Trujillo; brother Jesse Trujillo; nephew Joe; bonus kids Lily and Arya Sunt; Mason Backer; and a large extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Joela Trujillo.

Joshua will have two services. The first service was held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2024, at Generations Church in Greeley. The second service will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Pagosa Springs on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024, at 10 a.m.
