Get Ready for the 18th annual Mountain Chile Cha Cha and 16th annual Patty Aragon Green Chile Classic, which will be held rain or shine.

As the crisp fall air descends upon Pagosa Springs, the aroma of freshly roasted green chiles signals the arrival of the annual harvest season.

Join us for a culinary celebration featuring the renowned Hatch variety from New Mexico and Big Jims from Grand Junction at the Patty Aragon Green Chile Classic.

This year, we expect to showcase around 50 talented participants, both amateurs and professionals, who will compete for cash prizes, trophies and culinary glory with their unique green chile recipes.

From traditional to avant-garde, the cook-off promises a delectable range of green chile flavors and styles for everyone to enjoy. But that’s just the beginning — the event is packed with activities for all ages, including a kids’ tent, a Mexican beer garden, margarita tasting and a selection of food vendors.

We’re introducing a $10 entry fee to get into the event for the first time. Kids 12 and under are free. This nominal charge is a small price for an enhanced event experience with two of our favorite bands.

Enhancing the vibrant atmosphere of the event, the acclaimed band Sangre Joven will ignite the stage with its infectious Latin rhythms. Additionally, prepare to be blown away by the electrifying performance of Str8 Shot, promising an unforgettable experience. Plus, you can take home locally grown, freshly roasted Hatch green chiles to create your culinary masterpieces.

Join us on Sept. 28 for a day of music, dance and delicious green chile dishes at the Town Park athletic field.

Whether you’re a local or a visitor, this celebration of green chile and Pagosa Springs’ Hispanic cultural heritage is an event to be noticed.
