Locals attend Night to Shine

The Tim Tebow Foundation sponsors the Night to Shine across the globe the Friday before Valentine’s Day every year for adults with special needs.

The Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs, ages 14 and older. We are blessed to be a part of this growing worldwide movement through the local churches where thousands of people with special needs are celebrated, given the royal treatment and reminded of God’s love for them.

The Pagosa Springs community was well represented with our adults with all different abilities.

The event was held in Farmington, N.M., at Hills Church on Friday night, Feb. 9.

Each attendee had a one-on-one buddy, as parents and caregivers were treated to a catered dinner in a different building.

With more than 200 volunteers and 175 adults with special needs, the prom was well organized and attended. The event had awesome activities which included a red-carpet entrance, photo booth, karaoke room, limo rides, corsages and boutonnieres, dinner, and a DJ.

At 8:30 p.m., all attendees were crowned by their buddies as kings and queens with an appearance on screen by Tim Tebow and his wife sharing the faith based message from them. By 9 p.m., all were happy and exhausted and grateful that they were included.
