On the morning of May 14 at 9:26 a.m., our mother, Selena, passed away in her home under hospice care. She was 90 years old. She was born March 21, 1926, in Pagosa Springs.She was the daughter of Joe and Annie Madrid. She was married to Jacob E. Cogan for 51 years until he passed away in 2009. She had one of the toughest jobs; she was a stay-at-home mom. She had four children: Edward “Butch” (June) Madrid, of Pagosa Springs; Ken Cogan, of Iowa; Anita Cogan, of Greensburg, Pa.; and Kathy Cogan, of Midway, Ga.
She recently had lost her “hito,” Butch Madrid, February 2016.
She is survived by her children: Ken, Anita and Kathy; grandchildren: Ed Madrid, Rich Valdez, Tracie Castillo, Joe Ray, Chris Ray, Jake Cogan, Nick Cogan, Anna Mys, Christopher Rajewski, Kaylee and Loren Winge; and many great-grandchildren.
