Pagosa UU Fellowship to hold annual summer picnic Sunday

Posted

“The spirit of this Fellowship is love, and service is its law …” — so begins the covenant statement recited at the Pagosa Unitarian Universalist Fellowship.

Unitarian Universalism (UU) is a covenant-based faith tradition, which means we gather in covenantal relationship, rather than a creed with specific beliefs to adhere to.

This Sunday, July 21, we will gather for our annual Fellowship Potluck Picnic and Service, held at a member’s home at 11 a.m. No service will be held at the Fellowship this Sunday, and no Zoom service will be offered.

Our service leader will be Michael Demchak, longtime member and lay minister, and will provide context highlighting the covenantal relationship in a faith community and what it means to covenant with each other. Let us celebrate our interconnectedness and love for one another.

We will also be welcoming and conducting a new member ceremony, as well as discussing future plans and hopes for our Fellowship. All are welcome to this wonderful annual outdoor service and potluck. Come join the fun. If you, as a visitor, would like to join us, email PagosaUUF@gmail.com for further details and directions.

Grab a folding chair and other items (hat, sunblock, etc.) that will provide comfort for being outside and come enjoy the festive atmosphere for this annual event. The Fellowship will provide a main dish and dessert, please bring a side dish to share.

Pagosa Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in-person services are normally held on the first and third Sundays of the month at 10:30 a.m. We invite you to visit our website, www.pagosauu.org, to find our current newsletter and location of our offered services and programming.

As a teaser for upcoming services in August, we will be hosting two different UU guest ministers. We welcome diversity and invite everyone to share in our faith community, a vibrant and growing community to make friends, do good and grow your spirit.
