Pagosa Unitarian Universalist Fellowship to discuss acceptance

Posted

The Pagosa Unitarian Universalist (UU) Fellowship has access to professional ministry resources that supplement our individual congregation’s programs and offerings. The past service on radical hospitality sparked a thoughtful conversation, and we will spend this Sunday exploring more about acceptance of those who are not like us.

The Rev. Sunshine J. Wolfe, a lead in the work with the UU Association, states it this way: “As Unitarian Universalists we generally agree that it is the relationships between people that matter. We may not think, believe or feel alike. We will often disagree. We will celebrate and find different meanings in the celebration. It is our difference that is magical and powerful and central — a merging of pluralism, generosity and love. At the end of the day, it is our relationships that we center — how we choose to be present and in relationship with one another that matters. In the current social and political climate — centering relationship is a revolutionary act.”

We meet and invite you to the second Sunday morning Going Deeper Sharing Circle at 10:30 a.m. This small-group gathering is a place of reflection and sharing as we practice deep listening and sharing from our hearts. This is an open, safe circle of deepening your own life’s journey.

Visit our website, PagosaUU.org, where you will find information about upcoming services and programs. We offer space for ongoing programs and events at the UU Community Hub. Qigong practice is Monday afternoons at 1 p.m. and is open to all. The Wise and Wakeful Circle, hosted by Elaine Harding and Sam Johnson, meets the second and fourth Saturdays. The Tara Meditation Group will be on a hiatus for the month of August and will resume in September.

The Pagosa UU Fellowship is located in the Greenbriar Plaza, Unit B-15, 301 N. Pagosa Blvd., on the north side facing Pagosa Peak. We celebrate diversity and foster a spiritual home for those wishing to “Make Friends, Grow in Spirit and Do Good.”
