Obituary-Lonnie Lee Baughman

obit-BaughmanLonnie Lee Baughman, son of Leo William Baughman and Lucille Jeanette (Hembry) Baughman, was born June 24, 1956, in Leon, Iowa, and passed from this life Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, in Aspen Springs, Colo., at 57 years of age.

“Thunder” as he was known by most, graduated from Clarke Community High School in Osceola, Iowa, in 1974. He moved to Colorado in the late 1980s. He worked for Donaldson Construction, Copper Mountain and most recently as a locater for Summit County Property Management. He was a hard worker and enjoyed having a good time.

“Thunder” enjoyed the outdoors, he liked to go fishing and hunting, and he liked playing and watching sports. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Those relatives who preceded Lonnie in death were his father, Leo William Baughman, grandparents Leo and Wilma Baughman and grandparents Leonard and Hazel Hembry.

Lonnie leaves to cherish his memory daughter Kerrie (Darren) King of South Jordan, Utah; daughter Leslie Baughman of Pagosa Springs; son Billy Baughman of Pagosa Springs; mother Lucille Jeanette Baughman of Osceola, Iowa; brother Larry (Kelly) Baughman of Garden Grove, Iowa; brother Rick (Ann) Baughman of Eldridge, Iowa; sister Vicky (Scott) Halvorsen of Osceola, Iowa; sister Teresa (Doc) VerMeer of Knoxville, Iowa; brother Terry (Jan) Baughman of Chariton, Iowa; grandchildren, Lauren, Payton and Reagan, as well as other relatives and many friends.

Services were held at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola, Monday Dec. 16, 2013, with Pastor Chuck DeVos officiating.

Interment of his cremains will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery.
