The Pagosa Springs Main Street Program will launch its inaugural Main Street Art Walk on Friday, June 26, from 4 to 7 p.m., bringing local artists and downtown businesses together in a new community event designed to encourage exploration, creativity and support for the downtown district.
The free, self-guided event will feature local artists displaying their work inside participating downtown businesses. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet artists, explore shops and restaurants, and experience the unique character of downtown Pagosa Springs through a series of art-focused stops throughout the district.
The Art Walk was developed by the Pagosa Springs Main Street Program as a way to support both local artists and small businesses while creating a fun, family-friendly community experience. Organizers hope the event will encourage residents and visitors to discover businesses they may not have visited before and spend time exploring all areas of the downtown district.
“This event is really about connection,” said Kathleen McFadden, Main Street coordinator. “It’s an opportunity to bring artists, businesses, residents, and visitors together while celebrating the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit that make downtown Pagosa Springs special.”
Three featured gathering spaces will serve as anchors for the event:
• The East End Lounge at RiverWalk Inn, will feature local artists, complimentary beverages, and a welcoming space for visitors to relax and connect.
• The Mid-Main Art Hub at Picasso and Vino will host Faces in Pagosa, a free community art project celebrating the people of Pagosa Springs, along with complimentary refreshments, prize drawings, maps and event information.
• The West End Art Hub, centered around Sherpa Real Estate and neighboring retailers, will feature multiple artists and provide another opportunity for visitors to explore downtown businesses and creative spaces.
Throughout the evening, complimentary pedicab rides will be available, helping visitors navigate the district and experience more Art Walk locations.
The event comes during a period of significant public investment and infrastructure improvements in downtown Pagosa Springs. While construction has presented challenges, local businesses have continued to adapt and remain open throughout the process.
“Downtown businesses have shown remarkable resilience during construction,” McFadden said. “As sidewalks reopen and improvements become visible, the Art Walk offers a great opportunity for residents and visitors to experience the progress firsthand while supporting the businesses and artists that contribute to the vitality of our community.”
Following the inaugural event on June 26, a second Main Street Art Walk is scheduled for July 24.
