Light Plant Road closure to begin soon

Posted

According to an Archuleta County press release, the closure of County Road (CR) 119, also known as Light Plant Road, for a milling and repaving project will begin between June 3 and June 10.

The release explains that the project will involve the milling and repaving of CR 119 between the Apache Street intersection and U.S. 84.

The project is expected to take approximately 11 weeks, with paving work scheduled to be finished in August, the release indicates.

In an interview, Archuleta County Communications Specialist Ashley Springer indicated that the road will be fully closed to all but local traffic from residences along the road for the duration of the project.

The press release concludes by noting that the CR 119 milling and paving project is part of a broader effort to improve and repair roadways that will act as bypass routes during the Colorado Department of Transportation U.S. 160 resurfacing project that is currently scheduled to occur through downtown Pagosa Springs beginning in 2025.
