Captain James John Christopher Mollendor “Moe,” of Pagosa Springs, passed from this life on May 28, 2024, after a courageous fight with lung cancer. Moe served this country in the United States Marine Corps and was a veteran of Korea and Vietnam, retiring from the Marine Corps in 1978. Moe owned the Alamo bar in Tacna, Ariz. In 1995, Moe became a full-time Pagosa Springs resident. Moe was born in Denver, Colo., on Sept. 28, 1931. Moe leaves behind his daughter, Janette Golden; her husband, Jason; granddaughter Amanda Detlefsen; and also leaves behind friends Max and Annie Nicely, Fred Richards, Sandi, Sheila, Cissy, Rob, and so many more who cannot be listed.
Services will be held at Centerpoint Church at 2750 Cornerstone Drive at 11:30 a.m. on June 14.
