Hot-in-place asphalt recycling continuing

Posted

Hot-in-place asphalt recycling work will continue on area roadways this week, with the project planned to include portions of Navajo Trail Drive, South Pagosa Boulevard and North Pagosa Boulevard, according to a press release from Archuleta County Public Works Director Mike Torres.

He indicates that county contractor Dustrol began the recycling work on July 10 and that, weather permitting, the project should not take more than two weeks to finish.

Work began on Navajo Trail Drive, beginning from the end of the new asphalt near North Pagosa Boulevard and working southwest to the intersection with Vista Boulevard, Torres explains.

He states that the project will then move to South Pagosa Boulevard, with recycling occurring from Cameron Place to the intersection with Meadows Drive.

Next, Torres indicates, recycling will occur on North Pagosa Boulevard, starting with the section of the street between the intersections with Edgewater Drive and Aspenglow Boulevard and continuing with a section starting from where the lanes on North Pagosa Boulevard split to the intersection of North Pagosa Boulevard and County Road 600 (Piedra Road).

The project will conclude with recycling work on the entirety of Hatcher Circle.

“This project will cause one-lane closures, with delays up to 15 minutes. Work will be from 7am-5pm, Monday-Friday,” Torres comments.

In an interview, Archuleta County Communications Specialist Ashley Springer added that these projects will impact the Mountain Express Transit routes and that the public should check https://archuletacounty.org/681/6781/Transportation-MET for details on changes to schedules and routes.
