Fund-raiser recipe contest for pavilion

Special to The PREVIEW

Save the date for tomorrow, Friday, Dec. 6, and Friends of Pagosa Multi-Purpose Pavilion’s first of five contest fund-raisers.

The first four local chef judges will be Kellie from Alley House Grille, Kathy from Pagosa Baking Company, Allison from The View, and Desiree from Two Chicks and A Hippie. The first celebrity judge will be Bob Kudelski, a retired NHL all star who will help get our hockey program going as soon as we are open.

Bob was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in 1986, was traded to the Ottawa Senators, then to the Florida Panthers where he finished the season scoring a career high 40 goals and was selected to play in the 1994 All Star Game.

The proposed pavilion will have it all: music, concerts, private parties, business functions, seasonal ice (a regulation hockey size surface) and roller skating in the summer.

The Dessert Recipe Contest will be held Friday at The View, from 2-4:30 p.m. Tickets at the door are $20 and you will enjoy the Dessert Extravaganza and a silent auction. Coffee and tea will be provided and a cash bar will be available. There is no extra charge to enter the contest with your recipe.

This is the first in a series of contests and all entries will be published in a Taste of Pagosa Cookbook. The top three winners will receive a gold, silver or bronze Medal.

If you are interested in entering the contest, call Tari Woods at 731-8877 or Kristal Fortune at 264-3346.

The Happy New Year Fund-raiser will be held Jan. 17 — a cocktail party with a contest including recipes for appetizers and beverages.

We are a 501(c)(3) organization working a 3.5 phase plan to bring a six-month roller/six-month ice surface to our community; proceeds to benefit sports scholarships.
