Members of the Pagosa Springs High School football team help to load and transfer boxes of books for a Friends of the Library’s annual sale. This year’s sale is set for July 21 and 22.

As we make the final preparations for the Friends of the Library book sale, July 21 and 22, the Friends volunteers are extremely grateful for the Pagosa Springs High School football team.

These brawny youngsters easily tote the hundreds of boxes of books that are stored away throughout the year in anticipation of the big event. They earn community service points and the Friends don’t have to heft heavy boxes.

Please join us at the Community United Methodist Church at 434 Lewis St. for the sale.

You’ll find a wide selection of fiction and nonfiction titles and children’s books. Hardcover books are mostly $3, paperbacks are $1 to $2. The sale is open to the public from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Friday, July 21, and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 22.

If you are a member of the Friends of the Library, you are invited to shop early either day, from 9 to 10 a.m. If you would like to become a Friend of the Library, individual membership is $15, family is $25, and a lifetime membership is $100 per person. You can pay at the library or at the door at the book sale. Cash or credit cards accepted.
