Fire contained at less than one acre

Update, Friday, 8:35 a.m.: According to Pagosa Fire Protection District Chief Robert Bertram, the fire was contained at about 6:30 p.m. Thursday, with personnel performing mop-up operations until about 8:30 p.m. Personnel will be back on scene today to check the site and mop up any additional hot spots.

Update, Thursday, 6:22 p.m.: According to Archuleta County Sheriff Mike Le Roux, the fire is .84 acres.

Update, Thursday, 5:39 p.m.: According to Archuleta County Sheriff Mike Le Roux, the fire is roughly an acre and located on private property.

Resources from the Archuleta County Sheriff's Office, Pagosa Fire Protection District and U.S. Forest Service are on scene, he noted.

Le Roux explained personnel are in the process of containing the fire with hand line and saw line, and treating the interior with water.

He added it's in an area of ponderosa pine that is "reasonably" well mitigated.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, he noted.

Original: Fire personnel are responding to smoke reports in the area of Hidden Valley Ranch north of Pagosa Springs.

According to Pagosa Fire Protection District (PFPD) Chief Robert Bertram, the PFPD, Archuleta County Sheriff's Office and U.S. Forest Service are responding.
