FireWise of Southwest Colorado is offering a Chipper Rental Rebate Program to encourage residents to get serious about wildfire mitigation around their homes.
The program, running now through Oct. 31, will reimburse Archuleta County residents “the lesser of $100/day or 50% of the chipper rental cost or a mitigation company providing the chipping services.”
Homeowner associations sponsoring a neighborhood chipping day are also eligible for a rebate of “the lesser of $250/day or 50 percent of the chipper rental cost.”
The program is offered on a first-come, first-serve basis and will continue to run until funds are expended or until Oct. 31, whichever comes first.
