Band-O-Rama Concert set for April 24

Posted

The Pagosa Springs Instrumental Music Society (PSIMS) Community Band, the high school jazz band and the middle school band class invite the public to a special Band-O-Rama concert on Wednesday, April 24, at 7 p.m. in the Pagosa Springs High School auditorium.

Admission is free.

It is vital to the continuation of high-caliber musical performances in Pagosa Springs to encourage musicians of all ages to become comfortable playing in public for our concerts. PSIMS provides the opportunity for them to learn from experienced musicians in a supportive and encouraging environment.

Some students who have participated in Band-O-Rama have continued to embrace music and gone on to pursue college degrees in music as teachers and performers.

Our own Leo Baughman, high school music instructor and Malinda Burnett, middle school music instructor, benefited from Pagosa Springs music programs and are now giving back in a big way.

In 2023, PSIMS awarded two $1,000 renewable scholarships to local students continuing their education in instrumental music.

Please come out on April 24 and support Pagosa’s music students and their families. While admission is free, donations support the mission of PSIMS.

PSIMS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides free concerts four times a year: This Band-O-Rama concert in the spring, July 4 in town, the fall concert and Heralds of Christmas for the winter holidays.

PSIMS contributes financial support to the music community with music lessons, instrument repairs, and scholarships to music students.
