Shake off your bowling shoes and golf shirts, gather your friends and family, and get ready for Lanes and Links for the Library at your Ruby Sisson Library.

For one weekend only, Oct. 29 and 30, your Ruby Sisson Library will be transformed into a miniature golf and bowling center. Challenge your golfing skills with a nine-hole golf course throughout the library. Maneuver past a Wild West town, carefully wind through a waterfall, attempt to make it through a lumber yard and more. Step into the Turner Reading Room at the Library to try your hand at 10-pin bowling down the lanes between the bookshelves. Pinsetters will be on hand to set your pins after each bowl.

On Saturday, Oct. 29, from 5 to 7 p.m., we are hosting an adults-only event for ages 21-plus. Adults will be able to bowl and golf in a fun atmosphere. Beer, wine, sodas, pizza and other carnival foods will be on sale at Ruby’s Concession Stand. Enjoy live music with some of your favorite tunes by Jesse on guitar. Costumes are encouraged and prizes will be awarded. Tickets are $20 per person and include one drink ticket.

On Sunday, Oct. 30, from 1 to 4 p.m., we are hosting a family-friendly community event for all ages. Participants will enjoy golfing, bowling and other carnival fun. You will be amazed and entertained with magic tricks and balloon animals while waiting for your next turn. Sodas and carnival foods will be on sale at Ruby’s Concession Stand. Tickets are $10 per person and $40 per family of four ($5 for each additional person in your family).

Maybe it’s been a while since you were last inside the Ruby Sisson Library or maybe you come every week; either way, this is your chance to experience the library like never before. Make sure to include Lanes and Links for the Library in your Halloween weekend plans. You won’t regret it.

All funds raised from Lanes and Links for the Library will go toward our Mountains of Opportunity campaign to expand and renovate your Ruby Sisson Library.

Your library is the hub of the Pagosa Springs community. We offer a welcoming and safe space for people of every age, income level or physical ability. We help bridge the digital divide, promote early literacy, help patrons further their education and more. Your financial support would help us build a better future for our community, for our library. To learn more, please contact Cindi Galabota at (970) 264-2209 or cindi@pagosalibrary.org.
