Sixth Judicial District Court judge finalists selected

The Sixth Judicial District Nominating Commission has nominated three candidates for a district court judgeship created by the retirement of the Hon. William L. Herringer. The vacancy will occur on March 9. Nominees Anthony Edwards, of Silverton; William Furse, of Dolores; and Kim Shropshire, of Durango, were selected by the commission on Feb. 14.

Under the Colorado Constitution, the governor has 15 days from Feb. 15 within which to appoint one of the nominees as district court judge for the Sixth Judicial District (Archuleta, La Plata and San Juan counties).
