Seeds celebrates with holiday events

There was plenty of celebrating at Seeds of Learning Early Care and Education Center last week.

The center was filled with holiday cheer with several fun events that happened before the winter break. Silly sock day, crazy hair day and pajama day were among some of the favorites, but perhaps the most special event that took place was that each of the 55 children received a stocking filled with gifts from a generous donor to take home with them. It was the perfect way to kick off the holiday break and the children were thrilled.

All of this is possible because of the generous support of our community. The donations gifted to Seeds of Learning give us the ability to make this time of year even more special for our children. It allows Seeds to offer the highest level of education in early childhood development. Over 80 percent of the children enrolled in Seeds are at a reduced tuition rate due to income restrictions. That is why we are asking for your support this holiday season. Your tax-deductible donation, no matter the size, can fill the tuition gap before the year ends and show a child the path to a brighter future.

Seeds of Learning is a nonprofit NAEYC accredited early care and childhood center promoting the growth of the “whole child” while instilling the love of learning for diverse young learners in Pagosa Springs for 23 years. Only 10 percent of child care centers in America earn the NAEYC accreditation.

What Seeds’ accreditation means for children and families is a high-quality preschool education program. Families can feel certain that their children are safe and receiving the best care and early learning experiences possible every day. Families in Archuleta County must be assured of affordable, reliable and exceptional child care. Without it, families will be unable to afford to stay in our beautiful mountain town. While the landscape of Pagosa Country is spectacular, it is the people of our community that shape the character and are the backbone of what makes it so special. Seeds of Learning is making a difference for children, their families and Archuleta County.
