Lucas J. Martinez was born Sept. 13, 1949, in Trujillo, Colo., to Corina and Porfirio Martinez. Lucas joined his parents and older sister, Lucille Lynch, on Jan. 1.
As a veteran and active member of the Catholic family in Pagosa Springs, the viewing and rosary will be held in his honor at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church at 6 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 6. The funeral mass will be on Tuesday, Jan. 7, at 10:30 a.m. at the Pope John Paul II Catholic Church. As a veteran, Lucas will be interned at the Trujillo Cemetery with military honors following the mass. All guests are invited following the burial to join the family for a meal at the Parish Hall on Lewis Street.
