Colorado Department of Transportation workers collect core samples at the intersection of U.S. 160 and 5th Street last week. Core samples were collected at that site, as well as at Hot Springs Boulevard and Pinon Causeway, for the new caissons and foundation work that will be needed for new traffic signals at the intersections. The new signal project is anticipated to begin in August.
