The Geothermal Greenhouse Partnership (GGP) announces Pagosa’s sixth Environmental Film Festival April 13 and 14.
The Liberty Theatre and Farrago Market Café are the locations of the 2018 Colorado Environmental Film Festival (CEFF) Caravan. All proceeds benefit the GGP’s ongoing educational programs.
Ten films are scheduled for the Liberty Theatre on April 14. Two film shorts will be previewed by Pagosa Springs High School students on April 13. On the evening of April 13, GGP supporters will gather at Farrago for a premiere night celebration and receive an advance viewing of two film shorts.
The GGP site in Centennial Park remains busy with seven school classes in the Education Dome each week. Adult volunteers care for the food grown in the dome every day. In addition, GGP is beginning construction of two more greenhouses and landscaping of the east garden.
Funds for the construction of the Community Garden and Innovation domes come from the Colorado Water Plan and the Colorado Garden Foundation. Funding for the landscaped garden, east of the Education Dome, is granted by Pagosa’s Noon Rotary.
GGP’s Film Festival provides an opportunity for the Pagosa community to share first-run films and support GGP’s educational programming. GGP’s Environmental Film Fest kicks off our new year of educational programming.
GGP’s mission is to educate the community in sustainable agricultural practices by producing food year-round using local renewable energy.
2018 is the sixth year the GGP has produced a CEFF Caravan, bringing award-winning environmental documentaries to Pagosa Springs. GGP’s films fill one full day and are chosen from Colorado’s annual three-day Environmental Film Festival.
Premiere night at Farrago Market Cafe, April 13, is from 6 to 9 p.m. Each $50 ticket includes exclusive viewing of two films, GGP membership, an all-access wristband for Saturday’s films and wrap party, and an hors d’oeuvres buffet. Current members pay $25.
The GGP Film Festival at Liberty Theatre is April 14 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday’s tickets are $10 for members and $15 for nonmembers. Saturday tickets include a wrap party at Farrago that evening.
Tickets for premiere night, Saturday’s films and the wrap party are available at www.pagosagreen.org/filmfestival, the Education Dome on Tuesdays and Saturdays, Exit Realty, Chamber of Commerce, or at the door of Farrago or the Liberty Theatre.
