May was wet, but it wasn’t a record-setter.
More than 4.6 inches of rain fell in the area around Pagosa Springs in May, according to data from the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network, which logs precipitation measurements taken at registered locations within Archuleta County.
Too, the data indicates that there were only five days in the month of May in which no precipitation fell, with another four days logging only trace amounts of precipitation.
However, while the logged precipitation for the month fell shy of the record set in 1935, it was well above the May historical average of 1.26 inches for Pagosa Springs.
