Special to The PREVIEW

The annual Humane Society Chocolate Auction is just around the corner. This year’s auction will be held Saturday, March 28, in the PLPOA Vista Clubhouse at 230 Port Avenue.

The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. with socializing and viewing of the decadent chocolate creations that will be available for bid. Enjoy a delicious Italian-style dinner, followed by dessert and the auction. A cash bar featuring microbrew beer, a selection of red and white wine and soft drinks will be available during the evening. Auctioneer Jake Montroy will preside over the live auction portion of the event.

Tickets are $15 in advance and can be purchased at the Humane Society Thrift Store, the Humane Society animal shelter and at Higher Grounds Coffee. Seating is limited, so buy your tickets early.

The absolutely incredible chocolate desserts, some truly works of art, are donated by local caterers, bakers, candy stores, chefs and restaurants, and will be auctioned to raise funds to help with the daily operating costs of the community’s only animal shelter. The shelter houses and cares for the lost, abandoned and homeless dogs and cats of Archuleta County, which truly benefits the entire community.

The combination of chocolate and creativity always makes for an enjoyable event and this year’s auction will include some fun new surprises, too. The chocolate auction is a wonderful way to have an entertaining evening and support the shelter animals at the same time.

Plan to attend a great night out on the town at the Humane Society Chocolate Auction dinner and fundraiser on March 28.
