Due to snowfall and unsafe road conditions, the following closures and cancellations are being reported.
Archuleta School District schools are closed today. The status of tonight's school board meeting and basketball games will be decided later in the day and, when decided, will be posted on www.PagosaSUN.com.
Archuleta County offices are also closed today, and this morning's commissioner work session is canceled. The Town of Pagosa Springs is open.
Parts of the county and neighboring La Plata County are also experiencing power outages, according to La Plata Electric Association. As of 5 a.m., approximately 160 LPEA customers were out of power, with the two largest outages being 63 customers in the Meadows Drive area in Archuleta County, and approximately 70 in the Ticolote/D-K area of Durango/Bayfield. Both outages occurred between 4:30 and 4:45 a.m. and crews have been assigned. No specific cause is known, though the heavy snow is suspected.
