Photo courtesy Dan BurchThe Pagosa Springs High School music department brings home trophies for all three of their performing groups from the weekend’s Music in the Parks Competition in Denver. The concert choir took first place in their division with a superior rating. The jazz band took first place with an excellent rating. The concert band took second place with an excellent rating. The Concert Choir also received the overall trophy for all high school choirs, regardless of division, receiving the highest score for all high school choirs at the competition.
Tonight, Thursday, May 22, is the department’s final spring concert featuring the concert choir, concert band and jazz band. The concert begins at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium.
