Sen. Bennet announces summer internship application process

Posted

U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet, of Colorado, is accepting internship applications from undergraduate students, recent graduates and graduate students for his Washington, D.C. and Colorado offices. In Colorado, internships are available year-round in the following locations: Colorado Springs, Denver, Durango, Fort Collins, Grand Junction and Pueblo.

Washington, D.C. interns attend hearings and briefings, research legislative issues, meet with Congressional officials and staff, conduct U.S. Capitol tours, and draft correspondence.

Colorado interns research legislative issues, draft correspondence and support Constituent Advocates as they meet with and assist Coloradans who are having trouble navigating the federal government.

“Interns are an integral part of our office, providing essential support as we work to serve Coloradans,” Bennet said.  Internships are available on either a full- or part-time basis. This is an unpaid position.

Interested students and recent graduates should apply online at http://www.bennet.senate.gov/services/internships/. The deadline to apply for an internship in Washington for either summer session is March 15. Summer internships are divided into two sessions: Session one is May 20 through July 3, and session two is July 7 through Aug. 22.

For internships in one of Bennet’s Colorado offices, applicants will be considered on a rolling basis and can apply any time.
