VaughnArea law enforcement are looking for a suspect believed to have escaped from a Durango correctional facility Thursday afternoon. Brandon Vaughn, 26, was serving a community correction sentence of three years at Hilltop House on a vehicular assault conviction. Vaughn walked away from his job at about 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
Vaughn is suspected in a downtown Pagosa Springs burglary that occurred Thursday at approximately 6:30 p.m.
The suspect was known to be armed with a handgun at the time of the alleged burglary. Vaughn is 6’, 205 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He has tattoos on his arms and chest.
Do not try to apprehend the suspect. Anyone with information is urged to call Archuleta County Combined Dispatch at 731-2160.
