Special to The PREVIEW

On Thursday Nov. 21, the Institute of Light will present Niara Terela Isley at 7 p.m. at the PLPOA Clubhouse

Isley will speak about “Facing the Shadow, Embracing the Light,” her extraordinary story, now in book form.

Her talk will cover her unique ET experiences and her healing process and awakenings — her personal reasons and need to write such a book for others who have gone through similar trauma, and for a world of people trying to cope with a chaotic, disturbing but potentially transformative process — extraterrestrial contact versus alien invasion; and the vital need for people to activate their intuition and integrate their consciousness at this time in human history.

Isley will give examples and exercises for how to begin or strengthen this process.

Isley has been a spiritual seeker from the cradle up. Discovering a disturbing three-month block of missing time in 1980 during her tour of duty in the USAF, Isley underwent hypnosis to investigate this and other memories and strange “dreams” from childhood. What she discovered turned her life inside out for many years, launching her into in-depth study and research to find out what had happened to her, why, and in what political and social context. Also suffering from post-traumatic stress (PTSD) herself, she had to find ways to heal from the ensuing emotional fallout.

That healing journey has been an awakening to the multi-dimensional universe we all live in. A lifelong learner across a broad spectrum of disciplines, including various sciences, personal growth and spiritual practice, Isley’s healing process opened her up to amazing insights about the world we live in and our place and relationship to the larger universe around us. She has a B.A. in social work and has worked in the helping professions for many years. Today, she is an independent body-centered therapist, a writer-educator and an artist. She is also certified in Dolores Cannon’s Quantum Healing Hypnosis Therapy, and is working on additional certifications in EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and TRE (Trauma Releasing Exercises) developed by Dr. David Berceli to better help others heal who have experienced trauma and PTSD. Isley is also a member of the Exopolitics Institute Advisory Board.

The PLPOA Clubhouse is located at 230 Port Ave.

The Institute of Light is a non-profit corporation located in Pagosa.
