A Pagosa Springs woman died as a result of a head injury sustained when she fell out of a golf cart in a Friday evening incident.

Jennifer April Slind, 35, of Pagosa Springs, was with a group of four or five people at Pagosa Springs Golf Club Friday evening when she fell from a golf cart under as yet unknown circumstances, reported Det. Brandon Bishop of the Archuleta County Sheriff’s Office.

Bishop said Slind hit her head after falling from the cart. Archuleta County Combined Dispatch received a 911 call at about 6 p.m. that evening, Sept. 6, and an ambulance crew from Emergency Medical Services responded.

Slind was flown to San Juan Regional Medical Center, where she later died from an intercranial bleed, Bishop reported.

Bishop said Slind was a bartender at the golf club.

The investigation is continuing.

A memorial service for Slind will be held today, Sept. 12, at 6 p.m. at Higher Grounds Coffee.

Those who wish to attend are asked to bring an appetizer to share and their own beverage of choice.

All of Slind’s paintings, which were hanging in Funky Trunk (a business she owned and operated), will be auctioned at the memorial.

Additionally, an account has been set up at First Southwest Bank to help Scott Slind with medical bills and other expenses.
