Got chocolate? The Humane Society sure does!

The annual Chocolate Auction will be held this year on Saturday, March 16, at the Pagosa Youth Center, which will only be accessible through the Humane Society Thrift Store. This popular adult event will begin at 5:30 p.m. with socializing and viewing of the decadent chocolate creations that will be up for bid. A delicious lasagna dinner will be served, followed by dessert and the auction. A cash bar featuring bottled beer, a wine selection and soft drinks will be available all evening. Background music will be provided by “DJ Dude,” Mike Hayward, and auctioneer Jake Montroy will preside over the auction portion of the event.

Tickets are $10 in advance and can be purchased at the Humane Society Thrift Store, the Chamber of Commerce, and at Higher Grounds Coffee. A limited number of tickets are available, and any remaining tickets will be sold at the door for $15 each.

Absolutely incredible chocolate desserts, some of them wonderful works of art, are donated by local caterers, bakers, candy stores, chefs and restaurants to be auctioned off to raise funds to help offset the daily operating costs of the community’s only animal shelter. The shelter houses and finds homes for the lost, abandoned, and homeless dogs and cats of Archuleta County, which is truly a benefit for all local residents. The Chocolate Auction is a wonderful way to have a fun-filled evening and provide support to the animals by successfully bidding on rich and decadent chocolate confections.

Please plan to attend an enjoyable night out on the town at the Humane Society Chocolate Auction fund-raiser on Saturday, March 16, at the Pagosa Springs Youth Center.
