Unitarian Universalists to continue ‘What Our World Needs Now – Universalism in a Polarized Age’ series

For the month of October, we continue our series on “What Our World Needs Now: Universalism in a Polarized Age.”

Exploring the Universalism side of our denomination has been a focus in this series offered by the ministers of Foothills Unitarian Church in Fort Collins.

Following is a very brief historical background on Universalism.

In simplest terms, the Universalist Christian forebearers believed that all would be reconciled to God, therefore universal salvation. The 20th century brought a new understanding that one is saved in this life, and to live accordingly through the values of love and justice for all.

On Sunday, Oct. 6, beginning at 10:30 a.m., we will hear the message “Original Blessing,” which explores the goodness of the heritage of Universalism.

The Rev. Roger Butts, community minister of Foothills Unitarian, will share, through a streamed sermon.

The sermon is described that Universalism is what the world needs now: a spacious, gentle, fierce commitment to what is possible, together. It starts and ends with a simple proclamation of love, for all of creation.

In addition to the sermon series, we are offering a Sunday program, Going Deeper-Small Group Ministry Sharing Circle, on Oct. 13 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
