Spiritual Experiences Group to discuss ‘Is This a Gift from God? Techniques and Inspiration to Find Greater Happiness’

Posted

At this point in our lives, we have all probably heard the statement “Everything happens for a reason.”

That phrase is often used along with another well-known phrase, “Why do bad things happen to good people?”

These two ideas are often used to explain why occurrences in life that seem to be bad are necessary, and how they offer valuable lessons during our journey to spiritual growth. They are often gifts of love and these gifts come in many forms.

“A gift of love takes the awareness to see it, to recognize it. These gifts of the Holy Spirit are around you every day. In fact, you’re sitting in the middle of thousands of gifts of love at this moment.” — Harold Klemp, “How to Survive Spiritually in Our Times.”

One key to understanding situations in our life, such as loss, illness, accidents, financial and relationship problems is to practice daily techniques to shift our consciousness to a higher level so that we can view our issues from a 360-degree perspective. This helps us to see the hidden gifts of Spirit.

One way to do this is to practice daily gratitude for what we already have and contemplate the life lessons we are learning to help us grow through difficult times. We receive so many gifts of love. We can become more aware and understand them.

Join the Spiritual Experiences Group of Pagosa Springs on Sunday, June 16, at 1 p.m. for a lively discussion: “Is This a Gift from God? Techniques and Inspiration to Find Greater Happiness.”

We will meet at the Pagosa Lakes Property Owners Association Clubhouse, 230 Port Ave.

This free event is sponsored by Eckankar, a spiritual resource for people of all faiths and beliefs. It is an individual, creative practice to experience our unique relationship with the Divine.
