Downtown Pagosa Springs is changing, sidewalks are reopening and the progress is becoming easier to see. On Friday, July 24, residents and visitors are invited to rediscover what makes downtown special during the second Pagosa Springs Main Street Art Walk.
The free, self-guided event will take place from 4 to 7 p.m., pairing local artists with businesses throughout the downtown district. Locals and visitors can stroll at their own pace, meet artists, browse and purchase original artwork, explore local shops and restaurants, and enjoy a summer evening centered on creativity and community.
The inaugural art walk in June was interrupted by a major thunderstorm, but participating artists and businesses embraced the evening with flexibility and enthusiasm. The July event offers another opportunity to experience the art walk as intended: a relaxed downtown gathering that encourages people to linger, explore and discover something new.
Three featured gathering spaces will encourage visitors to explore the district from end to end.
The East End Lounge at RiverWalk Inn will feature local artists, an artisan chocolate tasting, complimentary beverages and a comfortable place to gather.
At Picasso and Vino, visitors can participate in Faces in Pagosa, a free community art project celebrating the people of Pagosa, while enjoying complimentary wine and snacks.
On the west end, artists will be hosted inside participating businesses, offering more opportunities to explore local artwork and discover downtown retailers.
Complimentary pedicab rides will also be available throughout the evening, making it easier to explore the district without moving your car.
The event comes as downtown businesses continue showing remarkable resilience during the main street reconstruction project. With visible improvements taking shape, the art walk offers the perfect opportunity to return downtown, experience the progress firsthand, and support the businesses that have remained open and welcoming throughout construction.
The art walk is organized by the Pagosa Springs Main Street Program and its all-volunteer advisory board, whose members donate their time to strengthen downtown through community partnerships, economic vitality, events and historic preservation.
Whether you are looking for a date night, a family outing, an opportunity to meet local artists or simply a reason to wander downtown on a summer evening, the Main Street Art Walk offers a chance to reconnect with the people, places and businesses that make downtown Pagosa Springs unique.
Admission is free, rain or shine, and visitors may begin at any participating location.
