Please join the Pagosa Springs Community Choir for our annual free Christmas concerts.

You will have three opportunities to enjoy this wonderful concert: Friday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 10, at 7 p.m.; and Sunday, Dec. 11, at 4 p.m.

The Community Choir is and has been in past years under the direction of Dan Burch, who is the music director at Pagosa Springs High School. Dan’s wife, Venita Burch, is the choir’s accompanist. The Burchs volunteer their time and talent to our choir and make singing in the choir both fun and educational for all our members. We thank them heartily.

This year’s concert will feature many familiar favorites such as the spiritual “Go, Tell It On The Mountain” and “The Little Drummer Boy.” Another well-known carol —“Sing We Now of Christmas” — is our theme this year. This wonderful French carol dates back to the late 15th century and speaks of the news of the birth of the Christ child in Bethlehem. French families would gather in their homes and in their town squares and sing this carol together in celebration of Christmas, and the Pagosa Springs Community Choir is continuing that French tradition.

This year’s annual concerts will be held in the Pagosa Springs High School auditorium. The doors will open Friday and Saturday evenings at 6:30 p.m. and on Sunday at 3:30 p.m.

The concerts are free for your enjoyment. Donations will be gratefully accepted. The Community Choir is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, and a tax-deductible receipt can be provided for your gifts.

We look forward to seeing all of you at the Community Choir’s presentation of “Sing We Now of Christmas.”
