Jan. 6, 1935-April 27, 2023

Oscar “Olin” Hazen was born in Sacramento, Calif. He later lived in Colorado and Nevada. He graduated from Chico High School, Claremont Men’s College and the University of Southern California, with his MBA, before passing the CPA exam. Olin served in the Army Reserves.

Olin worked in financial management before moving to Colorado to own a business offering computerized medical billing, payroll, tax and accounting services. Later, in Pagosa Springs, Olin built homes, owned small businesses and developed a stock market investing program. In his last chapter, Olin moved to Nevada.

Most important to Olin was his relationship with his Lord and Savior. Through thick and thin and to the end, Olin sought to serve Jesus as he parented, lead, fellowshipped and enjoyed God’s creations.

Olin is survived by his children, Darcy Kathleen Houghton and her husband, Howard and Olin Bradford Hazen and his wife, Emma; his grandchildren Seth and Zak Houghton and Nicole Hazen; his nephews Chris and Larry Hazen; and his niece Stephanie Hazen. He is also survived by Joanne Hazen and Sherry Clark.

A celebration of life will be held on July 2 at the home of Darcy Houghton in Carson City, Nev.
