Mop-up operations underway on Snow Ranch Fire

Today, Sunday, June 16, firefighters will continue to mop up and patrol the fire line on the Snow Ranch Fire, as well as remove fire-weakened trees that may otherwise fall across roads.

The fire is located approximately 11 air miles west of Pagosa Springs in the Chris Mountain area. The size is reported as 386 acres and 64 percent contained.

It was started on June 11 and was caused by lightning.

According to the update, fire managers will begin rehabilitation planning of dozer line and other disturbed areas Sunday.
