Pagosa Springs Masonic Lodge No. 114 AF and AM of Colorado will hold an open installation of officers Saturday, Dec. 13, at 1 p.m. The program will be held at the Masonic Temple, 227 Lewis Street, and is open to the public.
A special invitation to the public and all Masons residing in or visiting the area are encouraged to join us for this important occasion. A reception will follow the installation ceremony; please RSVP to Br. Dale Schwicker, secretary, at 903-3119.
New officers for Pagosa Lodge No. 114 are James Hawkins, worshipful master; Ronnie Maez, senior warden; Richard Wholf, junior warden; Jon Bower, PM, treasurer; Dale Schwicker, PM, secretary; Bob Case, senior deacon; Drake Stewart, junior deacon; Brian Fulbright, tyler. Leading the installation ceremony will be Worshipful Brother Steve Jackson, district lecturer and PM, from the Durango-San Juan Lodge No. 46.
Masons are men who profess a faith in God. As men of faith, they use the tools of moral and ethical truths to serve mankind. Their bond to like-minded men in brotherhood transcends all religious, ethnic, social, cultural and educational differences.
In fellowship with their brothers, a Mason finds ways to serve his God, his family, his fellow man and his country. Each Mason recognizes his responsibility for justice, truth, charity, enlightenment, freedom, liberty, honesty and integrity in all aspects of human endeavor. A Mason is all of this and more.
Pagosa Springs Masonic Lodge, A.F and A.M. No. 114, was established in 1902. Many prominent members of the community have served the lodge as worshipful master and in other offices.
Modern Freemasonry originated in 1717 in England, and 15 American presidents have been masons, among many other famous men around the world.
