Mark your calendars: 40th annual ColorFest set for Sept. 18-20

Mark your calendars for Sept. 18-20: ColorFest is bringing a full weekend of fall color, community spirit, and high-flying fun to Yamaguchi Park and beyond.

Hosted by the Chamber, ColorFest is one of those special hometown traditions that gives everyone a reason to get outside, reconnect with friends, welcome visitors and celebrate the spectacular season that makes Pagosa shine. With mountain views, crisp autumn air and golden aspens beginning to glow, it is the perfect setting for a weekend packed with fun.

From longtime locals to first-time visitors, ColorFest offers something to enjoy for every age. It is a chance to slow down, soak in the beauty of our community, support local businesses and make memories.

Things will kick off Sept. 18 with the Passport to Pagosa from 6 to 9 p.m. It will be an evening of exploring local businesses, delicious bites and voting for your favorite restaurant in the People’s Choice Contest.

Then come back Sept. 19 for Bands, Brews and Barrels from 4 to 8 p.m. Featuring live music, beer and spirits, and the chance to cast your vote in the People’s Choice Brewer and Distiller Contest.

The highlight of the weekend is the hot air balloon launches on Sept. 19 and 20. The balloons will launch around 8 a.m. from downtown south of The Springs Resort on Sept. 19, and on Sept. 20 around 8 a.m. uptown across from Les Schwab. Balloon launches are weather permitting.

And, for the first time, we will have the state drone show visiting ColorFest the evening of Sept. 19 after the balloon glow.

To buy tickets, you can go online at pagosachamber.com or call us at (970) 264-2360 and we will be happy to get you however many tickets you want for Passport that Friday or Bands, Brews and Barrels that Saturday.

Save the date, invite your friends and family, and get ready to celebrate the 40th Annual ColorFest.
