The final days of Thingamajig Theatre Company’s 2026 summer repertory season have arrived at the Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts.
With “Company” having closed its run on Wednesday, Aug. 19, just two productions remain: “Come From Away” and “Fiddler on the Roof.” Both will continue in repertory through the final performance of the summer season on Saturday, Aug. 29.
“Come From Away” tells the remarkable true story of nearly 7,000 airline passengers unexpectedly stranded in the small town of Gander, Newfoundland, following the Sept. 11 attacks. What begins in confusion and uncertainty becomes a funny, moving celebration of the extraordinary kindness shown by ordinary people. Thingamajig’s company of professional actors portrays dozens of characters, from the travelers whose journeys were suddenly interrupted to the Newfoundlanders who opened their homes and hearts to them.
“Fiddler on the Roof,” the beloved Broadway classic centered on Tevye, a Jewish milkman struggling to balance tradition, family and a rapidly changing world in the village of Anatevka, also returns for its final performances. Featuring favorites including “Tradition,” “If I Were a Rich Man,” “Matchmaker, Matchmaker” and “Sunrise, Sunset,” the production has been one of the Center’s most popular offerings of the summer.
The closing weeks are always bittersweet at the theater. After months of rehearsals, performances and life together in Pagosa Springs, the actors, technicians and creative artists who have made up this year’s summer company will soon begin heading to their next projects around the country.
There are still several chances to catch “Come From Away” and “Fiddler on the Roof” before the curtain comes down on another summer of professional theater in Pagosa Springs. We hope to see you.
