The Sarah Platt Decker Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution is pleased to announce this year’s winners of the DAR Good Citizens Award for local high school graduating seniors.

The winners are chosen by their respective schools for their dependability, service, leadership and patriotism. These qualities include truthfulness, loyalty, cooperation, courtesy, ability to assume responsibility and inspire others, and volunteer activities in the community.

Pagosa Springs High School’s winner for this year is Ebanie Wilkins, daughter of Shawn and Tiffany Wilkins. Ebanie has been active in volleyball, FBLA, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and has been student council parliamentarian and junior and senior class president.

Her volunteer activities have included bell-ringing for the Salvation Army, the local free community luncheon Loaves and Fishes, and working at the local pregnancy center. She plans on attending college to obtain a nursing degree as a registered nurse.

The chapter is proud to recognize these future leaders of our community.
