Community Resource Center to host Lunch and Learn Sept. 30

Grant research and assessing private and government grant funding is critical for the sustainability of nonprofits in Pagosa Springs. To help build that capacity, the Community Resource Center (CRC) is hosting a free Lunch and Learn at the Ruby M. Sisson Memorial Library on Sept. 30 from noon until 1 p.m.

Nonprofit staff can bring a bag lunch and learn more about the Colorado Grants Guide and grant research in Colorado.

The Colorado Grants Guide is part of the grant services program at the CRC and is designed to support small, rural and systemically marginalized communities that experience barriers accessing private and government grant funding.

In 2022, the CRC launched the guide on a new platform with increased functionality and features.

For more than 40 years, the CRC has worked with its partners across Colorado to increase access to information and build the capacity of organizations and connect nonprofits to funders in Colorado. Many Pagosa nonprofits have attended the CRC’s Rural Philanthropy Days and other nonprofit trainings.

Marcy Mitchell, former executive director of Aspire Medical Services and Education, will be facilitating the Lunch and Learn session.

Mitchell served at Aspire in Pagosa Springs for seven years as executive director and wrote and received several grants. She also helped found the Early Childhood Council of Archuleta County.
