During its regular meeting held on Oct. 6, the Archuleta County Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) unanimously approved its consent agenda, which included a letter of support for the Pagosa Lakes Property Owners Association (PLPOA).
According to the meeting’s agenda, “This letter is in support of the sponsorship of the Colorado State Trails new construction grant application in partnership with the Pagosa Lakes Property Owners Association (PLPOA).”
The attached letter explains that it is supporting the North Pagosa Trail extension project.
It also explains that the PLPOA “will be providing the cash match and the county will be in ultimate oversight of the project, has approved the project and can attest that the public right-of-way where the trail will be located shall remain open to the public for a minimum of at least the next 25 years.”
Additionally, the letter notes that PLPOA will be responsible for the long-term maintenance of the proposed trail project.
“This proposed North Pagosa Trail Extension Project would provide a highly desired non-motorized trail within our community that would serve many residents and visitors for years to come and is part of long-range plan to develop additional trails within the Pagosa Lakes community,” the letter states.
