Imagine yourself as a child, entering a magical space filled with beautiful art. Imagine being allowed to select a piece of art for your very own, all by yourself. This is what will happen at the Kids Choose Art booth at the Holiday Maker’s Fair on Nov. 11 at Pagosa Springs High School.

Artists’ support is needed for Kids Choose Art, a unique and fun fundraiser for Aspen House that will give children ages 5-12 the opportunity to personally engage with many forms of art.

Artists are being asked for donations to fill the Kids Choose Art booth with pieces of their beautiful work. The booth will be set up as a magical place that only children ages 5-12 can enter. With a donation to Aspen House, a child can go into the Magical Kingdom of Art to select a piece of art of their very own, on their very own.

Art donations can be any medium, from paintings to ceramics, sculpture to prints, textiles to glass, or more. Art donations can be dropped off at PS Froyo, 459 Lewis St., or can be picked up on request. Call (970) 903-8203 to arrange a pickup. The earlier donations are received, the easier it will be to organize this wonderful event.

Aspen House will be the first home in the Pagosa Springs area that provides supervised housing and support services for adults with developmental disabilities. It will allow adults with special needs to grow in independence without having to leave their home community.

Artists, please consider donating some of your artwork to support Aspen House, and to give the children of Archuleta County a unique opportunity to become appreciators and owners of art.

For any questions, or to arrange pickup, contact Mary Kurt-Mason at mesacanyonart@gmail.com or by calling (970) 903-8203. We need your support.
