The Archuleta County Planning Department recently issued address changes for three parcels located on Old Gallegos Road that were incorrectly addressed on Colo. 151.
Old Gallegos Road was originally declared a road by Resolution 96-26.
At this time, no other address changes have been made.
Additional address changes on Colo. 151 are being considered after emergency medical services were dispatched to the wrong address due to confusion regarding duplicate addresses in La Plata and Archuleta counties.
The Planning Department would like to discuss this issue and answer questions from residents in two community meetings scheduled to be held at the TARA Community Center, located at 333 Milton Lane in Arboles.
The first meeting will take place Sept. 18 at 6 p.m. The second will take place Sept. 24 at 1 p.m.
RSVPs are not required, and this meeting is open to the public.
The Planning Department urges residents to ask questions at these events. The department wants the community to further understand that where there is legitimate concern for the regard for safe and effective dispatch of emergency responders to a location, the Department will be compelled to make address changes. Changes will also be considered if requested by the property owner.
