The Rotary Club of Pagosa Springs’ annual teacher mini grant applications are due Monday, Oct. 12.

The program awards a limited number of mini grants up to $400 for special classroom projects to individual teachers in preschool through 12th grades in Archuleta County.

The mini grants provide working capital to innovative teachers who want to develop new ideas to enrich or enhance the student classroom experience. The mini grants must support the academic standards of the classroom.

The ultimate goal is to provide benefit and/or to affect as many students as possible. Grant awards will provide for materials, equipment and other resources necessary to carry out a proposed project that augments the school’s standards and goals.

The club has offered the mini grants for more than 12 years and provided up to $4,000 yearly, now benefiting more than 700 students each year. The funds come from community donations and Rotary projects. The grants are reviewed and awarded by a team of Rotarians.

Principals and directors have the applications for the teachers.
