Anella Handley

With a heavy heart, her family, friends and our community lost a beautiful soul, Anella Handley, on Feb. 14.

When speaking of Anella, the meaning of her name describes her beautifully. In English, Anella means a follower of the light, and in Hawaiian, angel. Angel on Earth indeed.

The kindness she so generously extended to everyone she met was an expression of her warm heart. She created 02asis Peak Renewal Wellness Center as a way of supporting the local community and visitors alike in helping them feel their best.

If you knew her, you know that you could drop in to her center anytime, and she would greet you with an open heart and arms. If you needed a confidant, her heart was open to listen. Her warm, gentle spirit would offer loving support. If you needed a hug, she would envelop you in her loving arms.

Without hesitation, she unselfishly volunteered her time and gifts to community events and fundraisers that needed an extra hand.

Anella’s passing will leave a big gap in our hearts and our community.

Anella left behind her companion, Ray Brown; her children, Stephanie Johnson Rivas, Jimmy Johnson and Sean Zinn; and her grandchildren, Aubrey Ledford, Aliya Johnson Rivas and Charleigh Johnson.

She would always leave us with a few wise words to lift spirits, inspire hope and promote inner strength:

Early to bed, early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.

You are in control of your thoughts and feelings, what you think is what you become.

Positive thoughts bring positive outcomes.

Whatever you give your energy and attention to is what will come back to you.

This, too, shall pass.
