Want to help the community while getting your groove on? Pagosa Springs Rotary Club has just the event for you.

The Pagosa Springs Rotary Club is hosting its seventh annual Jewels and Jeans Barn Dance on Oct. 15 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Archuleta County Colorado State University Extension building. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. for what is sure to be a fun night.

It’s time for a hoedown and we hope you’ll join us.

Tim Sullivan and band will be playing those boot-scootin’ boogie tunes for line dancing and couples dancing.

There will be two different food vendors on site to buy a snack or a meal to keep your toes tapping.

Don’t miss out on a special part of this year’s barn dance — horse-drawn rides. What better way to get in the spirit than a ride? These rides will be available at no extra cost to ticket holders. What fun.

Tickets are $20 in advance and can be purchased at the Choke Cherry Tree or from any noon Rotarian. At the door, tickets will be $25.

There will be a cash bar inside as well as a silent auction. Don’t forget to wear your best duds, be it embroidered western shirts, Sunday jeans, cowboy hats or bedazzled skirts. Yippie ki-yay, partner.

Proceeds from this event are spread throughout the community in a variety of different ways. The Pagosa Springs Rotary Club fills backpacks for youth who need weekend meals, provides scholarships to high school seniors, gives dictionaries to third-grade students and much more.

Rotary International is a service organization with a motto of “Service Above Self.”
